In our last executive review, senior leaders expressed the desire of full automation/ no PM touch. Team reacted differently: some was confused (& disappointed) about the comments because the system we build/ manage is automatic, it’s the other older systems that need more enhancements. Others worried the to-dos and impacts to team.
I believe the goal/ benefit of automation is to enhance team productivity by eliminating/ reducing unnecessary and repetitive (manual) works. Besides enhancing the technology and system, we need to tell a better story, not only the vision but also what we’ve done. Automation is not a 100 or 0 game but a continuous progress.
