One of my bucket list is to visit all 50 US states. If without Covid, I’d make that and visit my last state, Arkansas in March. Also, I love meeting Toastmasters (members) and joining meetings around the world. With Covid, many clubs have brought meetings online so let’s make a “double” – I contacted Little Rock Toastmaster to join their meeting via Zoom.
The club does two things creatively and differently: (1) It’s a hybrid meeting. People can join in person or online. For people who join in person, they wear masks when not speaking and sitting with distance from each other. (2) There are two screens: presenter on a larger screen so everybody can see clearly. Timer on a separated, smaller screen so people, especially for speakers, can see the timing light of green, yellow, and red.
The meeting was filled with energy, laughter, and comradery. I was invited as a guest speaker. I talked about UncoverSpecial: uncover special (kindness, creativity, beauty, joy, courage, and inspiration) in our daily life as well as realizing my dream to write a book. (see more in “About”) We all have dream and we can make it happen…just start NOW! I received a big applause and constructive feedback on how to make the speech even better.
