Pause and Think

Received a mail notice of a case claim for stocks of A company purchased during 2018-2020. My financial advisor had changed company, so did my account. Called him to seek support. Neither him, nor I have access to the older accounts anymore. I suggested to call the company customer service and asked them to check record. He asked his assistant to call with me. After 2 calls, the company stocks weren’t found. How could it be? I must have held the stocks or I’d not receive the notice. I asked the assistant to ask my financial advisor to check if mutual funds might have held the stocks.

Over the weekend, I thought of it again and decided to check if I might have saved a previous year statement. I searched and found a last month statement of each indicated year. Wala, A company is there.

I need to go to library to print out the statement as proof, however, library is about to close and I don’t have library card with me. Shall I try tomorrow and see if the staff would allow me to print without library card?

I paused and thought to read the instruction first, I learned that I could file online so I ended up taking photos of the statements and forms and completed the process tonight without leaving home.

The result is yet to be seen, however, I’ve learned from the experience to pause and think – What is the desired outcome? what are ways to achieve that? Then make it happen!
