中秋節Mid-Autumn Festival

A different day today! Not only it’s Mid-Autumn Festival, 1 of the top 3 celebrations in Chinese culture but also a big moment/ transition at work…

I’ll be leading a big project/ system development forward. It’s highly visible, highly anticipated, and what colleagues called the ‘most technical complex and changes-involved’ initiative the company has ever done. The great news are that we have A teams and good run for the past few months. It’s very exciting and new learning for me, yet, ‘scary’ is fill a huge shoe. On top of it, a meeting with CEO in less than 5 days. What an opportunity and team’s faith in me!

I had a usual Mid-Autumn Festival in the evening; started by sharing a huge plate of seafood pasta (I can drink the lobster sauce), Barossa cheese with tomato, and a bottle of wine with 2 good friends. We were happily ‘stuffed’ and walked to the park to look for the moon. A clear sky with a bright circle on top of a lighted city skyline; we were lucky to grab a swing, chatted and shared a ‘double egg lotus seed moon cake’, what an evening! Chinese says 月圓人團圓 (when the moon is round, family gather together). I don’t have my family around me, neither do my friends, yet we form a new family to enjoy life together!

13th Friday may be a taboo for some cultures yet it’s a new beginning for me to continue appreciating and celebrating the remarkable people and opportunities I have; the best way to pay back is to pay forward!
