Recently I joined a yoga studio and started routine practice. This morning (7:45am on Sat) just me and the instructor so I had a private class. It is wonderful to get more personalized demo, coaching as well as open the day with ‘stretch and mindfulness’.
Crow (looks like a ‘frog’) is a yoga pose that you lift yourself up from the floor with two legs rested on the back of your arms. I have always want to do it but never been able to do so. I thought I didn’t have enough arm strength yet in today’s practice, I managed to lift myself up though a bit wobbling and only for a few seconds. Whether I’m getting stronger or I’ve changed the gaze, position, or more importantly, I started to believe I can do it…I recognized that I doubt my strength and concern my head will hit the floor if I fall. The instructor suggested to use a block to support my head. I’ll try that later and continue practicing. I’m very excited, for the 1st time, see the possibility; Yes, I can!
It’s a simple example, yet, it signals ‘believe, you’re half way there!’ and ‘how’ to do it + with ‘whom’ make a big difference! Yes, I can! Yes, we can; believe in ourselves, surround ourselves with positive/ aspiring people, and support each other to succeed!
