Working from home for 2 weeks now. I appreciate the technology and teamwork that enable this, more importantly, the trust behind that people will do the right thing. I think ‘trust’ is what makes a brand, company, country great*.
I’m fortunately living in a neighborhood, on the front facing the main road so looking outside the window, I see ‘lives’ continue. On the back is residential, quiet streets that I take walk when the weather is good. I have the benefits of both world. I can’t remember who said ‘social distance is not social isolation’. I’m conscious yet continue living a ‘normal’ life, work, exercise, cook, take-out**, sleep, take online courses or activities…Normality and positivity are the best defense.
* When I lived in Finland 17 years ago, for 9 months, I’ve only been checked ticket twice (people swipe the card themselves when taking public transportation and there was no gate, neither watchdog). I love the ‘trust’ system.
** Many restaurants are closed, remaining are take-out only. I try to buy something over the weekend to support small business as well as change it up/ treat myself.
