I completed ‘Dynamic Leadership’ path from Toastmaster Pathway and gave a reflection speech about the journey. I shared 3 lessons, not typical from the communication and leadership skills people associated with Toastmaster.
- What I have learned is to focus on one thing at a time and don’t be too harsh on myself (progress will come overtime yet not linear).
- What I enjoy most is the friendship; with some, we hosted 3 TEDx to spread ideas further and with many, we stay in touch over the years while everybody moves on with life (be curious and give first)
- What I’m most proud, instead of DTM or winning speech contests, is the commitment to continue learning (keep going and stay active in every meeting)
I closed the speech by asking audience to support me (several people commented as brave and unique) and writing down 3 things in the feedback….
- What’s my strength
- What one thing for me to work on that will make the biggest difference
- What one thing to challenge myself
Journey is the reward. Thank you for the incredible people I’ve met and learned from/ with through the Toastmaster journey~
