Dream Come True

March ’20 I had a planned trip to Arkansas and complete a bucket list to visit all US states. Covid hit, the trip was cancelled and postponed until now, 3.5 years later.

I landed in Little Rock in a sunny Saturday afternoon. I walked out of the airport excited to check things out. A small problem, airport wifi isn’t working, either my mobile data. How might I get a Uber? I walked around trying to find a better wifi hot spot, not working. I went to find an airline staff asking if I can borrow her wifi yet she told me to go ask the airport customer service. I went to airline counter and found as older lady. I explained the situation. She is eager to help but doesn’t know how to use her phone’s hot spot sharing, neither know her phone’s name. Let’s see…I clicked around her and my phones, luckily it worked. I got a Uber, thank her, and started my Little Rock adventure.

The rest of trip was like a breeze: I had a full suit (bedroom, bathroom, kitchen, and a study) in my Airbnb. I walked to downtown enjoying different food: fish, rice, and bean, Mexican taco and tamales, Honduran baleadas (typical plate), local favorite ice cream, over-stuffed pastrami sandwich, and brought a loaf of whole sheet sour dough for the return trip. I had the flexibility to change plan, work in my airbnb room during the day and wrapped up with attending a toastmaster meeting at night. I joined the virtual meeting during the covid height over 3 years ago. I said then hopefully I will meet everybody in person one day. Here I was…welcomed by a full room, had a fun evening, and a lady kindly gave me a ride home afterwards.

A relaxing and unusual trip, no rental car, no specific tourist itinerary, just wonder around, enjoy the sunshine, trees, river, and local fare. Big on Little Rock, big on all dreams!
