I targeted to start blogging in 7/15/19. I started registering the domain and hosting service at 10PM after finally settling all other things. I didn’t have a blog design, neither had content; there is no way I can complete all on-time. I was “annoyed” about myself why I started so late then questioned if I “should” even sign-up. My roommate R cheered me up, ‘I know you will do it. Registration is a big progress’. Thanks R and she is right; taking the first step is often the most difficult. I clicked “Yes” on my screen. When customer service told me that it’d take 24-48hr for the system to be ready, I felt “lucky” to gain a buffer.
I woke up the next morning feeling more relaxed, yes, “1 year book project” is a commitment and takes daily work, yet, writing shall be fun! I looked forward to a writer meetup in the evening, perfect timing. Unfortunately, it didn’t go as planned, I was delayed in traffic by 1 hour, went to the wrong address then spent another 1/2 hour trying to find a parking. Well, even if I find a parking, by the time, I got to the place, it’d be 1/2 hour or less left. I turned and went home.
A bumpy start yet I’ve learned a few things:
- Change thinking, change feeling
- Learn and adjust as I go
- Relax! Don’t over-drive myself, enjoy the process, and trust all will work out
- Just start writing! I can meet other writers, bloggers later
- It always take more time and efforts so be prepared, patient, and persistent
