I had a team meeting. Our manager
facilitated the discussion, took and showed the notes while we’re talking. It
may seem unusual, normally admin or jr. person is (if) assigned to take notes
yet watching what/ how my boss did was very clever.
1. Nobody needs to retype the notes after the meeting which
is more time efficient.
2. Everybody sees the note. It makes sure everybody agrees or
at least on the same page.
3 and most importantly, my boss turned the (passive)
note-taking into ‘active’ driving the meeting direction and facilitating the
discussion.
Being a role model is a great leadership quality/ skill. The
first time I met my boss, I asked his leadership style, he said ‘watch me’! He
lives up to his promise~
