Finding the Positive Everywhere

As I was preparing for the Toastmaster speech to focus on the positive, I thought of my trip in Guatemala…

For the ‘no-show’ of 4:30AM pickup of Tikal tour while I got up 3ish and stand at street corner waiting for 45min…

For the 2hr ‘sardine can’ ride to a small village that took less than 10min to walk the main street…

I could be upset and felt waste of time…yet the swapped Tikal 6AM tour had a wonderful guide who showed us history, culture, animals, and family stories that I’d never had experience on a typical tour. For the packed ride, I got a glance of locals’ life: mom breast feeding baby right next to me, young boy hanging on the window calling for passengers along the way (no schedule or bus #, destination marked yet people know and get where they need to go). I also saw the ‘no tourist’ zone and bought 6 eggs (vs. carton in the fridge of supermarket) on the counter of a local shop. I boiled the eggs and they’re so easy to peel-off, not sure if anything to do with freshness or in a place without the need of organic/ cage-free label?

Happiness is not by face value and we can find positive everywhere~
