Shared Chinese New Year’s Eve dinner with a Chinese and Korean friends. Making dumpling is the tradition for people in NE China and fish is a main course for Korean. We had both plus beef stew, chicken soup, kimchi, veggie…cozy and yummy!
CNY pot lot lunch at aunt’s house
I went to aunt’s house for New Year’s Day pot lot lunch. 20+ of her friends showed up with 2 tables of food and dessert, e.g. shrimp, beef stew, lochi, rice noodle, shabing, Kaufu, fish, bao, manto, ba bao rice, roasted chicken and duck, rice cake, friend dumpling, different vegetables, various snacks, etc. I brought Khachapuri (Armenian/ Georgian boat-shape cheese bread), a global food festival J
Continue eating, I went to a colleague’s home for New Year’s dinner. We made dumplings again; different ingredients, one is fennel and macron. I don’t know if I had fennel, for sure, never had fish dumpling. It has a distinct taste and very good. I brought ‘apple pie bread’ as dessert…juicy sweet apple inside bread w/o the crust.
