Dragon Boat Festival is one of the top three festivals in Chinese culture. Zonzi (see images, made with sticky rice, meat, mushroom, duck yolk, etc. and wrapped in bamboo leaves; different provinces and families have different recipes and styles) and dragon boat racing are the highlights.
I love zonzi yet with Covid-19, I don’t plan to go to China Town or Chinese grocery store. I was a bit sad that I won’t have zonzi…then I got a text from aunt that she ordered a dozen and asked if I’m interested.
Yes, I got 2 zonzi 🙂 It’s big and packed with goodies, a big chunk of pork, mushroom, duck york, and chestnuts…it’s warm, soft, and chewy…Thanks aunt for the delicious treat and care!
