Chinese pronounces eight as ‘Ba’, similar to Eight so Eight Eight (August 8) is Father’s Day. I called home to wish dad a Happy Father’s Day!
Normally dad handed the phone to mom quickly, today we chatted. He spent most of time talking about a recent car repair and a fuel system cleaner. I know he is into car yet it’s more than that. When it’s mom’s turn, she again talked about the fuel system cleaner (mom never talked about car) and read the label description and benefits to me. They both urged me to get the cleaner. I promised that I’ll check next time I go to the store. Later I saw an email from dad, again about the fuel system cleaner with the label information that mom already told me in the call.
Logically, it doesn’t make sense to spend so much time on a bottle of cleaner, especially we have different cars and live in different countries. I need to find what’s available and suitable. Yet I see it’s how mom and dad express their care for me.
