My roommate and I have been working from home since mid March due to Covid. We’re busy during the week, barely talk with each other, and usually work late. Today for the first time, we decided to have a tea in the late afternoon. I love Indian Chai masala tea, hot and comforting, just the smell makes me smile… Some restaurants add ginger to it. My roommate uses mint instead. We enjoyed the tea with Bhakri, Indian flat bread with a spicy twist. It’s harder, smaller, more like a cookie than bread, made with wheat and chickpea flour, coriander leaves, ginger, sesame seeds, salt, turmeric, and green chilies…it’s flavorful and perfect balance/ dip into tea. My roommate and I chatted and laughed over Indian-style tea time. In 30 minutes of less, we learned a bit more about each other and cross-cultures; we were happy and recharged to go back to work.
