If I choose one word to describe Amy, it would be “thoughtful”. Let me give you a few examples…
Amy is an amazing chef and a hostess. (Pre-Covid) Every year she threw a holiday (Xmas) party and invited friends to her apartment. She started preparing the “global food tour” days prior, including American favorite, e.g. mini hot dog roll, meatball, and cookie as well as home (Taiwan) flavor, e.g. sticky rice (油飯), fried rice noodles (炒米粉), and one of my favorite street food, egg cake (雞蛋糕). She also prepared gifts under the tree for friends’ children.
Amy is a superb planner and executer. Recently, she acted as chief judge for Greater Stamford Toastmaster club speech contest. Amy asked my support as a judge. I’ve be a judge in many contests yet this would be my first virtual contest. Amy sent out emails with detailed information and forms as well as reminders. She set-up 3 calls to brief judges. She opened the Zoom meeting earlier to make sure everybody (support team) and everything were all set before contestants and audience arrive. She arranged virtual rooms for the main event, contestant briefing, and vote count. We had a successful contest and fun evening. Amy enthusiastically thank people’s attendance and supports yet we all knew, it’s her that made a big difference.
Amy is an environmental advocate and activist. She brings her own water bottle when going out and reusable bag in grocery shopping. She grows plants and lettuce by the window and gives speech at Toastmaster about recycling.
It’s my pleasure to have Amy as a friend and learn from her generous giving, organized doing, and positive living.
