It would be lovely to close the purchase; a home would be a big present for myself yet confirming extension and lock-in rate offered assurance.
I ran to Starbucks to claim my free b-day coffee yet it closed earlier, well, good day (much warmer than the past 2 days) to run and get fresh air.
Mama Costa Rica asked her student who is visiting New York to send me a surprise. Inside the box, there were a card, T-shirt, notebook, necklace and earing of her favorite color, and CR treats (rosquillas she made y toronja rellena, Atena special). They put tears in my eyes. I put her card, along with mom & dad, sister, and niece’s on the shelf behind my desk; I have their love and accompany everyday.
I invited aunt to go out for dinner but when I got off a call and came downstairs, she already ate and left me a colorful plate, mixed of left-over and fresh veggie. She didn’t know my birthday yet thanks for the intention.
On Sunday, seeing good weather, aunt suggested let’s go for a walk. We picked up her good friend and went to Wayside Inn walking around the green and nearby mill. I can feel the history when opening the door. (Wayside is claimed to be the oldest American inn). We were warmly welcomed by the waitress. She recommended cider for drink as today is the last day of the season. She brought full basket of bread (3 kinds). With that and soup, we were full before main course showed up. Lamp was tender, butternut squash was juicy, plus creamy mashed potato, what a treat. 2 ladies from the other table stopped by on their way out asking where we were from. While we were chatting, a cup cake with candle came, a lovely surprise from the waitress, and everybody sang happy birthday for me.
What a blessing!
