Humble and Grateful

Many people, including myself had never imagined one day to wait in line for store to open and hope to get toilet paper in US. Yet it’s happening now…

I went to Target at 8:20 (store opens at 8AM) and hope to get toilet paper. It was out of stocks last weekend when I went there in the early afternoon. A few Target staffs stand out and told people that the governor announced to reserve 8-9AM for senior and venerable people first. 9AM store will open for the public and everybody is allowed to buy a bag of toilet paper, paper towel, or disinfected supply. I had to wait for 40 minutes yet I’m grateful of the ‘policy’ to give people a ‘fairer’ opportunity. I’m also proud of the ‘civilization’ of people (perhaps that’s what make Boston one of the top cities in US or the world). Nobody argued, cut in line, or raced to the shelf.

It’s remarkable of Covid-19’s impact yet it’s also humbling to realize and appreciate the simple things, e.g. toilet paper, cleaning supply, rice, etc. How lucky we were able to go to office/ school/ gym…and meet people freely.
