I’ve spent the past few weeks with my boss and BI lead ‘digging data and tweaking the model’ to prepare for an experiment. Data analysis was messy and time-consuming. Meanwhile, we heard from team: some want to push the change forward faster, other question our ‘collaboration’ because they haven’t heard anything (though we had presented the concept several times). It’s understandable of the ‘tension’ because of the project’s high-visibility/ priority and uncertainty (new area/ approach). My boss and I want to be prepared as much as possible (& validate the model before sharing) while team want to know as soon as possible.
Are we ready?
The truth is that we’ll never be ready to prepare for everything or we’ll never start anything. If we know everything, we haven’t pushed the bar far enough. Tension and uncertainty are not comfortable, nor easy yet they’re ‘good news’ because they only happen when there is something important and people care about.
Yes, we’re ready to get the proposal/ experiment out there and enlist teams’ supports and feedback. We’ll learn and enhance the product/ process as we go~
Believe we can and we’re ready!
