Generosity is Good Deed and Business

2 weeks ago, I came across a small café, Spot Café, and ordered an Italian Cannelloni (roll of pasta filled with cheese, meat, and tomato sauce). The chef, grandpa-like figure came out and said ‘I gave you some bread with it’. I love bread and thank him.

I sat down at a nearby park and opened the brown bag…warm, irresistible bread smell came out. I quickly grabbed a piece, wow…and couldn’t stop eating all 3-4 pieces. The pasta was good yet bread was even better.

I came back last weekend wanting to buy the bread. The young man manning the counter apologized for not having the whole wheat one. Today I came back again and happily got 2 loafs of Miche bread*: 1 for me, 1 for aunt. It’s not a big purchase yet it wouldn’t happen if without the little ‘gift’. What makes Spot Café stands out in a crowded market (there are at least 4 diners within 1 mile radius) is not only its good food and reasonable price but also its friendly people and cozy feel. I’d go back again and tell people about it~
